Solar Energy

upsolar

Phayao University has implemented an energy management project to achieve energy savings, which is part of the policy to use renewable energy for electricity generation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support energy conservation in a tangible way. This operation is consistent with the Renewable Energy Development Plan and Alternative Energy (AEDP2015) and the Prime Minister's policy, which proposed that government agencies pilot the use of solar energy through the Solar Rooftop system to reduce electricity consumption from conventional energy sources and increase the use of clean energy.

Energy Management Project of Phayao University

Phayao University has undertaken a project to install a solar power generation system with a total installed capacity of no less than 2,912 kWp, which can produce approximately 4,110,320 units per year for use within the university area. In addition, it serves as a model for government agencies and educational institutions to promote the development of renewable energy. The power generation system will be installed on the rooftops of various buildings in the university, along with an energy monitoring system to enhance energy management efficiency.

Project Objectives
  • Using solar energy to generate electricity: Phayao University can produce electricity with a solar power system with a total capacity of no less than 2,912 kWp, which will help reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Promote the development of renewable energy: This project encourages the development and research of renewable energy, such as Smart Energy Meters, P2P models, and Energy Storage within the university to create new knowledge and innovations in energy.
  • Be a model for renewable energy electricity generation: Phayao University will be a model for government agencies and educational institutions in the use of renewable energy, as well as serve as a learning resource for the general public.
  • Support government energy policies: This project aligns with the government's renewable energy development plan and helps reduce global warming problems.
  • Use clean energy to conserve the environment: The use of solar energy is a clean energy source that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promotes energy conservation and environmental protection.

Equipment and Technology Used in the Project
  • Solar panels: Utilizes monocrystalline solar panels (Model ZXM8-TPLDD110) with a capacity of 535 watts, which are durable and have a long lifespan.
  • Inverter: A grid-tied inverter model Growatt MAX 60-80KTL3 LV, which converts direct current (DC) from solar panels into alternating current (AC).
  • Control and protection systems: Including DC panels, AC panels, and relay equipment.
  • Weather monitoring sensors: Systems that monitor changes in weather conditions to assess energy production efficiency.
  • Energy data storage systems: Systems to monitor and record data on energy production and usage for analysis and improvement.
Education and Training

Phayao University has organized training activities and provided knowledge about solar energy to students and personnel within the university to enhance understanding and knowledge in the use of renewable energy and energy management.
